From the critique I got from today i decided to start a higher res version with a lot more attention to details. Smaller details like bolts, rivets and seams i plan to do in zbrush. Here are some screen shots from what i got completed today. 




Also I found a new target goal for myself now that I aim for a high res model.

A project Tina Equels ( http://tinaequels.blogspot.com ) and I are working on together. She painted three thumb nails and we chose one of the three to animate.
 We chose B and she broke the Photoshop file into layers that I brought into After Effects to animate.
All the layers are 3D so I can move them in 3 dimensions to give the illustration depth and movement. We plan on having smoke rising from the pond as leaves blow by and smoke creeps across the screen. 
Here is my current progress on the Bell UH-1B Iroquois helicopter model. I plan to Get all the detail in my texture maps. I colored some parts black so they will show up better in progress renders. This is not my desired final colors. Once I complete the final textures i will then go back and model the helicopter in a broken / crashed state.
